Students learn that growth sometimes requires taking a risk, trying something unfamiliar, or continuing even when they feel unsure.

At KIPP Kirkpatrick Elementary School, students learn in a joyful, supportive environment where they are encouraged to ask questions, take risks, build confidence, and discover what they are capable of achieving.
Located in the heart of East Nashville, KIPP Kirkpatrick is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in grades K–4. Our teachers and staff partner with students and families to build strong academic, character, and social foundations for the years ahead.
KIPP Kirkpatrick Elementary School serves Davidson County families from our East Nashville campus at 1000 Sevier Street.
Our approach combines high-quality instruction with a school culture grounded in relationships, joy, and high expectations. Students build essential academic skills while learning how to think critically, communicate with others, work through challenges, and become increasingly confident learners.
KIPP Kirkpatrick was recognized as a 2024–25 Tennessee Reward School and TVAAS Level 5 school for student growth and achievement.

Elementary school is where students begin developing the knowledge and learning habits they’ll carry into middle school, high school, and beyond.
At KIPP Kirkpatrick, classrooms are designed to encourage conversation, curiosity, critical thinking, and active participation. Students are challenged academically while receiving the guidance and support they need to keep growing.
Learning also extends beyond traditional academic subjects. Students have opportunities to participate in Music, Physical Education, and Mindfulness, creating space to move, create, reflect, and discover new interests.
The goal is a well-rounded elementary experience where students can develop academically while growing socially and personally.
Every student arrives at school with different strengths, experiences, interests, and needs.
KIPP Kirkpatrick works to create classrooms where students are known and encouraged to grow. High expectations are paired with instruction and support designed to help students develop academically and socially.
Morning Meetings provide one example of how this happens throughout the school day. Students have opportunities to see social skills modeled and practice building relationships with classmates alongside their academic learning.
As Principal Tiffany Potter explains, Kirkpatrick’s work centers on student growth, high-quality instruction, affirming student identities, developing critical thinkers, and maintaining high expectations for the entire school community.

Families deserve current information when evaluating a school.
For the 2024–25 school year, KIPP Kirkpatrick Elementary School earned TVAAS Level 5 status and was named a Tennessee Reward School.
These recognitions provide one way for families to understand the school’s recent academic performance. We also encourage families to look beyond any single measure by learning about the school’s instructional approach, student experience, support, enrichment opportunities, and overall fit for their child.

Principal, KIPP Kirkpatrick Elementary School
Principal Tiffany Potter leads KIPP Kirkpatrick with a commitment to joyful, academically excellent learning and a school culture built around students, families, and community.
Under her leadership, the Kirkpatrick team works to help students grow academically while developing the confidence, social skills, and critical-thinking abilities they will need throughout their education.

Finding the right elementary school also means making sure it works with your family’s daily routine.
KIPP Kirkpatrick currently provides bus transportation and offers before- and aftercare.
Because transportation routes, eligibility, schedules, and care arrangements can change, families should review the latest information or contact the school when planning for an upcoming school year.

KIPP Kirkpatrick can be the beginning of a longer KIPP Nashville educational experience.
KIPP Nashville serves students across grades K–12, giving families opportunities to explore KIPP middle and high schools as their children grow. The broader pathway is designed to support students as they develop greater academic independence, explore new interests, and eventually prepare for college, career, and the future they choose.
School availability and enrollment are not automatic when students transition between grade bands, so families should review their options and enrollment requirements as each transition approaches.
Choosing an elementary school is an important decision, and one of the best ways to evaluate a school is to experience it firsthand.
