The KIPP Nashville Promise
At KIPP Nashville we align ourselves with the approach that turned the KIPP charter network into what it is today: an environment that honors the talent, perspective, drive, and inspiration of each child, and that supports them to build the skills and confidence they need to pursue their highest aspirations.
Together with families and communities, we create joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students with the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose – college, career, and beyond – so they can lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world.
Locations
KIPP Nashville Elementary Schools
KIPP Nashville elementary schools are founded on cultivating love of learning and curiosity in a way that helps children learn the essential skills they need to thrive in their education journey. We place a strong emphasis on foundational literacy and conceptual mathematics, and offer a variety of enrichment opportunities such as arts, physical education, and mindfulness.
KIPP Nashville Middle Schools
In middle school, KIPPsters continue to shape their identities within their school and communities. We stand by their side along this journey and help them think critically, engage with one another, work both independently and together, and participate in rigorous discussions, all in an attempt to help them develop the confidence to stand behind what they believe in. We offer various enrichment opportunities, such as choir and band,, alongside rigorous academic curriculum that includes Math, English, Science, and Social studies.
Lastly, students have the opportunity to join numerous after-school activities and sport teams, including soccer, track, cross-country, basketball, and cheerleading.
KIPP Nashville High Schools
At KIPP Nashville, the path toward a career of highest aspiration and a fulfilling career starts in ninth grade. Our KIPP Forward team begins working with students through regular classes and check-ins, teaching students about the college application process. Students participate in a program called YouScience, which helps them match interests and talents to potential career paths. The high school experience is geared toward equipping students with the academic and social-emotional skills that will prepare them for that next step after high school and make the best choices toward reaching their goals. With courses centered around meaningful discourse and a focus on culturally-responsive curriculum, our KIPPsters learn how to harness the power of their voice as they come together to build a better, more just world for us all.
Teachers encourage students to speak up and engage in meaningful conversations that require them to think critically and challenge each other’s perspectives in impactful ways.
The KIPP high school experience involves a wide range of AP classes, including computer science, calculus, literature, statistics, and world history, and a variety of after school clubs and sports.
KIPP Forward
KIPP Forward is a unique program that provides support for KIPP high school students and alumni. Every student takes classes designed to help them determine their career of highest aspiration and are then guided through the necessary steps to get them where they need to be. Whether that involves attending college or a technical school, or immediately entering the workforce, our KIPP Forward team is there every step of the way, helping students and families through ACT prep, the application process, financial aid support, social-emotional counseling, and more. After graduation, each student is paired with a KIPP Forward Advisor who provides one-on-one support.
