About KIPP Academy Nashville

KIPP Academy Nashville (KAN) is a free, open-enrollment public charter school in the heart of East Nashville.

KAN was a 2015 SCORE Prize Finalist, was named a 2021-2022 and 2018-2019 Tennessee Reward School for student growth and achievement among the top public schools in Tennessee. In the 2017-2018 school year, KAN students achieved the highest year-over-year academic growth possible and ranked among the best public middle schools in the city. KAN also outperformed the district and the state in ELA, Math and Science in the end of the year TNReady exam.

KIPP Academy Nashville is open to all students who are residents of Davidson County.

Our Approach

KIPP Nashville Academy offers students a holistic educational experience that is focused on individualized learning, rigorous academics and opportunities to develop their authentic selves. At KAN, all students participate in music, with the option to join our world-class performance choir. Extracurricular opportunities include student council, basketball, cross country, track, cheerleading, step team and a variety of clubs.
