When the mission comes full circle, and gets featured on the front page of the Tennessean! With the opening of KIPP Antioch Global High School, we also celebrate a special full circle moment. Founding math teacher, Miguel Reyna, was also a founding member of KIPP Nashville Collegiate High School’s class of 2018.
After graduating from KIPP, Mr. Reyna received an undergraduate and graduate degree from Vanderbilt University. When Mr. Reyna was a student at KIPP, he rode the bus from Antioch to East Nashville to attend high school, sometimes spending three hours a day on the bus.
Now, Mr. Reyna works with his former English teacher, Mr. Gauthier, who also serves as Global’s Principal. And he’s teaching in the same community where he grew up and currently lives.
