The Path to College and an Opportunity-Filled Life Starts with a Great School.

Every student in Nashville deserves access to a free, college-preparatory seat in a public school.

KIPP Nashville is a network of high-performing, free, public charter schools in Nashville. We currently educate 2,000 students in kindergarten through twelfth grade with locations in East, North and South Nashville.

KIPP Nashville is part of the larger network of KIPP schools, educating nearly 100,000 students in 224 schools across the United States. As a charter school, we are an independently run non-profit, allowing for greater flexibility in operations in return for greater accountability for advancing student achievement.

The KIPP Difference

KIPP stands for the “Knowledge is Power Program.” We believe that all students can thrive in the right environment. At KIPP Nashville, we are focused on academic results, while also promoting character development and making sure our students have fun. Our students are taught by a talented group of teachers and principals, many of whom moved here from across the country to pursue their passion of education.

Our KIPP Through College Team provides special college-prep curriculum beginning in ninth grade and continues providing support to our students through college. At KIPP Nashville, we are with your student To and Through College.

Making The Choice

KIPP Nashville public schools are open to any student who lives in Davidson County. Enrollment is conducted through a random lottery that takes place in February. There is no entry requirement to apply for or attend a KIPP Nashville school. We do not recruit students based on ability or performance, nor do we turn away students for any reason.

Enrollment is conducted through a random lottery selection process that takes place in February. If there are more applications than seats, we develop wait lists and draw from those lists as-needed.
